She Danced

She danced
her body had a groove
that moved to a rhythm of a beat
that had no ending as
she moved her feet
she danced
she danced
away her sorrow
hands clapping toes tapping
rhythm flowing no one knowing
what she’s feeling inside
but her grove she could
no longer hide
she danced
she danced
the economy away
she danced
cause the person that cared
for her the most could not stay
she danced
to the Mississippi blues
she danced
in New Orleans at
the jazz club too
she danced
at revival in a tent where
Christian folk gave their souls
she danced
all around the globe
she danced
for a better you and me
and when she danced
everyone could feel her beat
because she danced
